Points of Interest Overhang, geo- thermic, bubbles
Boularte is a nice easy little dive site on the north west side of the Island. The mooring line in the small bay is very protected. A patch of sand can be like a spa where the geo-thermic bubbles trickle from out of the sand to the surface. There is an overhang with two very large black coral trees. Like most of the Apo Island sites, you never know what may show up here.
Most of the site is within 10 metres. There are some surreal coral formations on the reef flat. In the same area there is a lot of macro life here, probably more than anywhere else on the island. This is a great site for nudibranchs. Frogfishes and cuttlefish are also common at Boularte. A great site for beginner divers and snorkelers. Some good larger life here including giant reef cuttlefish, flowery Cod, barracuda, and lots of reef fish.
