Description Mainit means hot in the local dialect. Named for the hot spring water that flows from the yellow sulfuric sands at one part of the site. Normally done as a drift dive due to the strong currents that can be experienced here.
The site also has some nice hard and soft corals and colourful sponges. Mainit also has some good macro life hidden in the sands and lots of various species of nudibranchs. Flamboyant cuttlefish, seahorses, and snake eels are also found at this site. Mainit also has a small artificial reef of car tyres where various critters can be found hiding from the current. Large schools of Barracuda, Spanish Mackerel, Yellow Snapper can be seen circling in the currents and the occasional reef shark and Dog-tooth Tuna also pay the site the occasional visit.
